This switch is a brake pressure switch that also plays a role in the anti-lock brakes system. It fits perfectly into some Ford models such as F-250 (2003) and Excursion (2000) but not in others like the Ford Ranger (2003). It comes with a new wire harness which is a good thing since brake fluid can leak and ruin a harness. Based on customer reviews, this switch has a short lifespan and may stop working after a few months. One customer was not able to connect it to the factory harness and could not return it since it was out for too long. Despite the few setbacks, this cruise control release switch is compatible with newer wiring harnesses and works to fix cruise control issues. It is vital to keep all safety protection circuits in place while installing this switch.
