Rated: PG Format: DVD Documentary Editorial Review
**Editorial Review** The experience of watching "Africa: Serengeti / Imax & AC-3" is a nuanced one, with customers expressing a range of emotions and reactions. Many reviewers praise the engaging narration by James Earl Jones, which adds a distinguished touch to the documentary. The high-definition (Blu-ray) version has garnered particular acclaim for its sharpness and vibrant colors, dramatically enhancing the viewing experience compared to its standard definition counterpart. Fans of nature documentaries have found this presentation of the great migration of wildlife in Africa to be captivating and beautifully shot. However, not all feedback is positive. Some viewers expressed disappointment regarding the overall quality of the Blu-ray transfer. They noted that the image quality and dynamic range fell short when compared to contemporary benchmarks set by series like BBC’s "Planet Earth." Technical criticisms highlighted issues such as visible dust particles and underwhelming audiovisual fidelity, arguing that the presentation seemed outdated. Additionally, the narration style came under scrutiny, with some finding it simplistic and lacking depth. Overall, while the film is celebrated for its breathtaking imagery and educational content, particularly for viewers with a personal connection to Africa, it faces criticism for not living up to modern Blu-ray standards and for its more basic narrative style. **
