Arcane Wonders Board Games ARWTX1CK Editorial Review
The Mage Wars Conquest of Kumanjaro expansion has elicited a mixed reception from players, primarily centered around the limitations in its card offerings and the challenges presented in Constructing decks for the new mages. While many players express enthusiasm for the introduction of new cards and classes which add an exciting twist to gameplay, numerous reviewers highlight the frustration that arises from the absence of crucial cards needed to effectively build decks for the new Beast Mistress and Beast Master. Players appreciate the variety and alternative gameplay strategies offered by the two new mages introduced in this expansion. The expansion provides a fresh perspective for seasoned players and introduces new tactical options. However, the inability to create pre-Constructed decks with the available cards frustrates those who enjoy the deck-building aspect of Mage Wars. Consequently, many players find themselves compelled to dismantle existing spell books from the core game to accommodate the new mages, which detracts from the overall enjoyment. Despite these drawbacks, the expansion is generally regarded as a good buy for fans of the game, particularly for those eager to explore the new designs. Many agree that while it might not be fully necessary in terms of enhancing gameplay, it certainly adds another layer of depth to an already compelling game. **
