The Flex-Drain 85011 Downspout Extension is a flexible green plastic pipe that is used to extend a downspout and direct the flow of water farther away from a building’s foundation. The extension pipe is designed for easy connection to a downspout with a 2x3 inch opening on one end and a 3x4 inch opening on the other end. The pipe can be extended up to 55 inches in length, and additional pipe lengths can be connected together by matching the like ends. The joint between pipes can be sealed with an outdoor UV resistant waterproof tape. The pipe is manufactured in the US by Amerimax Home Products. Customer Experience & Reception: - The product is made of cheap plastic and is not as thick as old models. - The extension is perfect for directing the flow of water, especially for connecting roof drains to piping to send water away. - Some customers had issues with the product tearing or drying out and cracking after a short period of use. - The product works well initially but may become brittle and break after a few years or following exposure to freezing temperatures. - Installation is easy and the product arrived before expected delivery. - Some customers had issues with the size and fit of the extension over the downspout; it may need to be secured with sheet metal screws. - The product connected well with other pipes, but customers should not cut it if they plan to connect it to other Flex-A-Spouts.
