How does the forged construction of the Wilwood caliper benefit performance?

The forged construction of the Wilwood 120-11134 caliper provides enhanced strength and rigidity compared to traditional cast calipers. This results in superior durability and improved braking performance, particularly under high-stress conditions. The caliper’s robust design can withstand high temperatures and prevent flexing, ensuring that pedal feel remains firm and responsive. This makes it a perfect choice for serious racers and car aficionados who prioritize precision braking and overall vehicle control.

What is the piston configuration of the Wilwood 120-11134 caliper?

The Wilwood 120-11134 Forged Superlite Internal Caliper utilizes a six-piston configuration that provides a balanced and powerful braking force across the brake pads. This design promotes even pad wear and optimal contact with the rotor, resulting in a more efficient braking system. The increased surface area of multiple pistons also means that you can achieve better modulation and control, which is essential for both street applications and competitive racing. This makes it suitable for vehicles seeking enhanced stopping power.

Is the Wilwood 120-11134 caliper suitable for street use?

Yes, the Wilwood 120-11134 Forged Superlite Internal Caliper is not only built for race applications but is also suitable for street use. While it excels in high-performance situations, its robust design and reliable braking performance make it an excellent option for performance street cars. Enthusiasts can enjoy improved brake response and performance in everyday driving scenarios, ensuring safety and confidence on the road without sacrificing style or performance.

Whether you own a classic muscle car or a modern sports coupe, this caliper helps enhance the vehicle's braking capabilities, improving safety and performance in both everyday driving and competitive scenarios.

What size rotors work best with the Wilwood 120-11134 caliper?

The Wilwood 120-11134 Forged Superlite Internal Caliper is designed to work optimally with rotors ranging from 13 inches in diameter. This combination is ideal for maximizing braking performance and heat dissipation. It is crucial to pair the caliper with appropriate rotors to achieve the best results in braking efficiency and heat management. For best performance, ensure that the rotors used are also matched with the overall braking system for enhanced balance and control.
