What is the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter compatible with?

The EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter is compatible with a wide range of gas oven models. It's particularly suited for several brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, and Amana. When choosing an igniter, it's crucial to check your oven's model number to ensure a proper fit. By ensuring compatibility, you can guarantee that the igniter will function optimally and ignite the burners effectively, making your cooking experience seamless and efficient.

How does the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter work?

The EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter operates by producing a spark that ignites the gas flowing to your oven's burners. When the oven is set to ignite, the igniter receives electrical current, heating up to a point that ignites the gas. This mechanism ensures that your oven lights up quickly and efficiently. Proper functioning of the igniter is essential for effective cooking because a malfunctioning igniter can lead to inconsistent heating or a failure to light altogether.

How can I replace the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter?

To replace the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter, first ensure that the oven is unplugged and the gas supply is turned off for safety. Remove the oven's bottom panel to access the igniter. Disconnect the wires and unscrew the old igniter, then install the new one by reversing the process. Make sure to reattach the wires securely to avoid any electrical issues. This replacement is essential for maintaining consistent oven performance, especially for cooking dishes that require precise temperatures.

What are the signs of a faulty oven igniter?

Common signs of a faulty oven igniter include a failure to light, intermittent sparks, or uneven heating during cooking. If you notice that your oven takes longer than usual to ignite or if it doesn’t light at all, it’s likely time to replace the igniter. Recognizing these symptoms early can help you avoid more extensive repairs down the line, ensuring that your cooking remains uninterrupted and your meals are prepared without delays.

Can I use the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter in both electric and gas ovens?

The EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter is specifically designed for gas ovens, as it ignites the gas that fuels the burners. It is not suitable for electric ovens, which rely on heating elements instead of gas ignition. If you're using a gas range, utilizing this igniter will ensure that heat is generated efficiently. If you're in need of replacements for electric models, you'll have to look for alternatives designed for electric systems.

How long does the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter last?

The lifespan of the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter can vary depending on usage and maintenance, but generally, it can last several years under regular use. Signs of wear such as cracks or discoloration may indicate it's time for replacement. Regular cleaning around the igniter can help prolong its life, ensuring that your oven remains reliable. Monitoring the performance can also help you address any issues before they lead to significant cooking problems.

Is installation of the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter complicated?

Installation of the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter can be done with basic tools and a bit of patience. While it may seem complex, most users can handle the task with a guide or instructional video. Having a schematic of your oven model can greatly simplify the process, ensuring you properly connect the igniter. Taking this on as a DIY project not only saves on professional service costs but also empowers you in maintenance of your kitchen appliances.

What materials is the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter made from?

The EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter is typically constructed from durable materials designed to withstand high temperatures. This includes ceramic and metal components that ensure longevity and reliability under exposure to heat and gas. Understanding the quality of materials can help consumers trust the product’s performance. Relying on well-made igniters can ultimately lead to a more efficient cooking process and reduce the likelihood of failures during meal preparations.

How can the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter improve my cooking experience?

Using the EvertechPRO 12400035 Oven Range Igniter can significantly enhance your cooking experience by providing reliable and efficient ignition for your gas oven. EVERTECHPRO Accessories ‎EP-12400035 Editorial Review

The 12400035 Oven Range Igniter has garnered a largely positive reception from customers who have used it as a replacement part for their older gas ovens, notably the Magic Chef gas models. Users appreciate the ease of installation and the compatibility of the igniter with their existing appliances, often noting that it fits perfectly and functions as intended. Many reviewers highlight significant improvements in performance post-installation, such as faster ignition times and quicker heating, reflecting a sharp contrast to the slow and inefficient operation with their previous igniters. One striking account mentions that an oven, which had been out of service for 15 years, was brought back to life just in time for a family gathering, making the customer feel like a "hero." Other users also provide Constructive feedback, noting that while the igniter is effective and affordable, there seems to be a recurring issue with its longevity, suggesting a lifespan of about 1.5 years before requiring a replacement. This could lead to regular maintenance being needed, but the majority of reviewers express satisfaction with their purchase, often recommending the igniter to others. However, some negative experiences have been reported, usually tied to specific instances of defective products, such as missing components and damaged packaging. Despite these isolated incidents, the overall sentiment remains positive, positioning this igniter as a reliable solution for those needing to restore functionality to older gas ovens. ###
