The film's breathtaking cinematography and gripping narrative, coupled with a meticulously crafted 4K restoration, have lead it to finally receive the respect it deserves. Fans of the film revel in the hypnotic storytelling, as well as the harrowing journey of its characters—a testament to Friedkin's directional prowess and the film's ability to convey deep themes of fate and survival. Customers praise the high-quality image restoration, with many noting that it offers a Considerable improvement over previous Blu-ray editions. The depth and detail of the visuals create a captivating viewing experience that resonates well with both longtime fans and newcomers alike. The audio options are commended as well, particularly the enveloping 5.1 surround sound mix, which enriches the experience despite some criticism directed at the overall quality of the music soundtrack. While the film's story is riveting, a few reviews pointed out technical flaws in Criterion's approach, specifically in the music's brightness and harshness compared to previous remastered versions found elsewhere. Additionally, concerns have emerged about the packaging—while the content quality is high, some customers voiced a desire for more traditional cases rather than the current digipak design. The Criterion Collection has included an extensive array of special features that highlight the film's legacy, such as a lengthy documentary and insightful interviews. While some viewers wished for a director’s commentary, the robustness of the extras provided has largely satisfied the audience. In short, "Sorcerer" as presented by Criterion is celebrated as a masterpiece and a must-own for any serious film collector. Its dramatic realism, technical craftsmanship, and the passion behind its creation shine through in this release, reaffirming its status as a significant cinematic achievement. **
