Electro-Voice Handheld Wireless Microphones Editorial Review
The Electro-Voice PL80 Dynamic Microphone has garnered positive feedback from users, with many praising its clear sound quality and versatility for various vocal types and environments. Customers have noted its superior performance compared to more traditional models, particularly the Shure SM58, with reports of a brighter, well-balanced audio quality that makes it an ideal choice for both live performances and studio settings. Many reviewers emphasized the microphone's ability to work well without much processing, which reduces the chances of feedback, a common issue with some other models. Users appreciate the PL80’s dynamic range and the way it handles EQ and compression without compromising sound quality, making it a suitable alternative even to higher-end microphones like the Beta 58A. Its affordability has been highlighted as one of the standout features, making it an excellent "bang for the buck" option in the dynamic microphone market. While users expressed satisfaction with the PL80's performance, some comparisons to other models indicated a preference for the PL84 under certain conditions, though the PL80 was noted as easier to handle and set up. Overall, the Consensus is that the PL80 is a fantastic microphone that competes favorably with pricier alternatives, making it a solid investment for both new and experienced vocalists. **
