The customer reviews of NEO: TWEWY are mixed. The gameplay is fun and has a unique style, but it can get repetitive. The soundtrack, graphics, and control are all enjoyable. However, the story is convoluted and has a time travel gimmick that makes the player repeat cutscenes, and the enemy variety is lacking. Some players feel that the game consists of running back and forth and fighting enemies with too little actual story content. The gameplay is unlocked through a relationship link system, and players can collect and level up attack pins, equip clothing for stat boosts, and buy food for permanent stat increases. The battle system is enjoyable, and the pins come in different varieties. The soundtrack is great. The graphic style is anime and cell-shaded, but the animations and cutscenes feel low budget. There is a lot to collect and do in the game, but the gameplay is not compelling, and there are better games to play. Overall, NEO: TWEWY is a fun game with good music, graphics, and control, but the story and gameplay are not enough to keep players engaged.
