It is an excellent replacement subwoofer for a Lexus SC 430, as well as for a DIY project such as a boom box. However, it lacks control and can distort easily without a box. Customers appreciate its dual coil that allows them to change the ohms for better sound quality, but some customers have reported a lack of low sound and mid boom in the bass. The subwoofer can be wired separately to raise or lower the ohms to match the amplifier/system. The ohms must be set up correctly to draw the maximum wattage from the amplifier safely. Additionally, it can be used as a replacement for the Lexus SC430's Mark Levinson 86160-0w450 sub, but the existing mounting bracket must be removed from the old speaker for the new one.
