Linoleum Cutters Editorial Review
**** The book on block printing presents a clear and accessible guide tailored for beginners, making it a valuable resource for those looking to delve into the art of printmaking without the intimidation of formal classes. With a straightforward approach, the author, Sandy Allison, successfully walks readers through essential techniques with an emphasis on practical steps, supported by an array of photographs that illustrate each process. Users have found the book to be a worthwhile alternative to expensive classes, praising its easy-to-follow structure and the wealth of information it provides—from safety tips and tools to types of inks and papers. While it covers the mechanics of both linocut and woodcut printing effectively, some readers noted that it lacks depth in certain areas, particularly regarding multi-color techniques and more advanced registration methods. The book concludes with a gallery of prints, which, while appreciated, could potentially be more diverse to reflect the artistic range possible in printmaking. Overall, it serves as an excellent entry point for novices, though those seeking extensive artistic insight may need to seek additional resources. **
