What are the key features of this cable?

This cable features a right-angle 3.5mm TRS connector, which is designed to fit snugly into tight spaces, minimizing strain on both the cable and connectors. The BNC connector ensures a secure and low-loss connection to timecode devices. Constructed with high-quality materials, this cable ensures durability and reliability, essential for professional filming. The right angle design prevents accidental disconnection during shoots, making it ideal for on-location filming and dynamic environments where camera angles frequently change.

Can I use this cable with other cameras besides ARRI?

While the SZRMCC Right Angle 3.5mm TRS to BNC Time Code Cable is optimized for ARRI cameras like the C300 and C500, it can also be compatible with other devices that feature a 3.5mm TRS output and a corresponding BNC input for timecode signals. This versatility allows for broader applications in video production setups, especially in multi-camera environments. However, it’s recommended to verify the compatibility of the specific devices you plan to use alongside this cable to ensure proper functioning.

Is the cable flexible enough for various filming setups?

Yes, this cable is designed to offer flexibility, catering to various filming setups, whether on a tripod, handheld, or rigged. Its right-angle connector helps in managing the cable length, giving more freedom in positioning and routing without causing stress or tangling. This flexibility is essential in dynamic shooting conditions where camera movement and setup changes are frequent. Filmmakers often experience reduced risk of damage and greater ease in managing their gear, enabling seamless shooting processes.

What lengths is the cable available in?

The SZRMCC Right Angle 3.5mm TRS to BNC Time Code Cable is commonly available in different lengths to accommodate various filming environments. Typical lengths might range from short to medium to suit different setups. Choosing the appropriate length helps prevent excess slack which can lead to tangling, while also ensuring that you have the reach necessary for your specific camera configuration. For best results, consider the distance between your camera and the timecode generator during setups.

Does this cable support bi-directional timecode transmission?

The SZRMCC Right Angle 3.5mm TRS to BNC Time Code Cable is primarily designed for transmitting timecode from a timecode generator to ARRI cameras. It supports standard unidirectional timecode formats, which is sufficient for most production needs. However, it's important to check the specifications and compatibility when integrating with other devices, as bi-directional capabilities may depend on the type of equipment you are using. This focus on reliable one-way transmission maintains signal integrity throughout the recording process.

How does the right-angle design benefit filmmakers?

The right-angle design of the cable is a significant advantage for filmmakers, especially in tight spaces or crowded setups. By reducing the amount of space needed around the camera's input jack, it minimizes strain and potential damage to the connector. This feature allows filmmakers to position cameras closer to walls or other equipment without compromising connectivity. The compact nature of this design is particularly useful for handheld shoots or rig setups where space is at a premium.

What kind of materials is the cable made from?

The SZRMCC Right Angle 3.5mm TRS to BNC Time Code Cable is constructed from high-quality materials designed to withstand the rigors of professional use. This typically includes durable shielding to prevent interference and signal degradation, along with high-grade connectors that ensure a reliable connection. The robust build quality is essential for fieldwork, where cables may be exposed to environmental challenges. Such construction helps maintain clarity in the timecode signal, integral for flawless audio-visual synchronization.

Can this cable be used for audio as well?

The primary function of the SZRMCC Right Angle 3.5mm TRS to BNC Time Code Cable is to transmit timecode signals, and it is not designed for audio transmission. While the 3.5mm TRS connector can carry audio signals, using this cable for audio purposes may not yield optimal results, as it is specifically tailored for timecode applications. For audio needs, it’s recommended to use dedicated audio cables that are built for that particular task, ensuring high-quality sound capture without interference from timecode signals.
