The Slik U8000 is a reasonably priced tripod that is good for basic applications. It has a quick release head and can be extended to approximately 5.5 feet. The panning and tilting is okay for video work, but it requires balance to achieve ideal smooth panning. The tripod can hold up to 4.4lbs, but long lenses may not balance well. The feet are removable, but the spikes are not very long. The tripod will work with any camera that has an industry-standard 1/4 20 thread mount. Despite its low cost, the Slik U8000 is not bordering on professional or even Prosumer grade. It is flimsy and falls down in even the slightest wind, making it unsuitable for use with an easel. The crank handle has broken for some users, and other reviews describe the plastic parts cracking and breaking. However, it is relatively lightweight, easy to use, and comes with a nice bag for travel.
