VHT Brake Cleaners ESP739000 Editorial Review
VHT SP731 Real Red Brake Caliper Paint is a high-performance coating that has a heat resistance of up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit. This enamel-based paint is designed to be used on brake calipers, drums, rotors, and other surfaces that are exposed to high temperatures. This product comes in an aerosol can, which makes it easy to apply and provides a smooth, even finish. The paint can also be used on other surfaces such as ceramic tiles and mufflers. Overall, customer reception of this product has been mixed with some reporting great results, while others reported flaking and poor durability. Most users recommend removing the calipers completely, cleaning and preparing the surface before application, followed by two light coats and a third, heavy coat. At least 1.5 cans were recommended for four calipers, and it is best to wait for a seven-day cure before applying a final clear coat. It is also advisable to avoid pad contact areas by taping or using a paper template to mask the surface.
