The Hangar 9 Carbon Cub 15cc ARF 90 HAN5065 is a balsa almost-ready-to-fly (ARF) airplane kit that requires the addition of electrical components such as a speed control, motor and servos. The build quality and instructions are deemed to be great according to a reviewer who has assembled almost 40 EPO R/C airplanes and jets of all types. The kit comes with a black spinner. One reviewer made modifications, adding the recommended eflite motor, castle ESC, APC prop and servos using a 6s 5000mah battery for scale flying. The reviewer recommended the Dubro big wheels for long grass, extra epoxy on the motor box, and ensuring the prop adapter is tight to avoid issues. Although the airplane flies and lands okay, it was deemed very heavy by another reviewer and has "very tough takeoff tendencies." He recommended the Phoenix model 84" Piper Cub or the Extreme Flight 84" Bushmaster as alternatives that are less expensive and more agile. Battery insertion and removal for this model is regarded as very difficult by the same reviewer.
