The pencils are wax-based and have a metallic finish, which gives a unique and shimmering effect when used on a range of surfaces including paper, wood and more. Although a few reviewers stated that some colors require a heavy hand to see the metallic shine, the vast majority of reviewers were pleased with the colors and their ability to blend well. Overall, the pencils are smooth and easy to use. Another advantage is that they come in a presentation tin box which helps protect and organise the pencils.
