- Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Bereits im Rahmen eines fachwissenschaftlichen Seminars zum Thema „Medien und Sozialarbeit wurde ich auf den Umstand aufmerksam, dass infolge innovativer Konzepte wie jenes von „Big Brother oder von Nachmittagstalks gesellschaftlich wieder allgemein über Fernsehdesigns und besonders über die soziologische Relevanz von Talksendungen diskutiert wird. „, Talk' - das ist im weitesten Sinne gesprochenes Wort. Mediale Sprechsituationen unterliegen wesentlich anderen Voraussetzungen als die sprachliche Alltagskommunikation. Wird aus diesem konzeptionellen Inhalt nun eine Fernsehsendung produziert, so entsteht eine „Sendeform des Bildmediums Fernsehen, die unmittelbar auf ursprünglich orale Kulturtechniken des Erzählens zurückgreift, um somit Talk und Show zu einer Synthese zusammenzuführen. „Dabei steht der 'Talk' im Mittelpunkt, während die Show-Elemente ... als Übergang und Rahmenprogramm dienen. Den Begriff der Talkshow allerdings definitorisch einzugrenzen, fällt dem Analysator dieser Gattung schwer. „Synonyme wie Schau-Plauderei, Plauderei-Schau, Gerede-Schauen, Prominenten-Plausch, Plauderstunde, Schwatzbude oder Sprechstunde bleiben allenfalls Hilfskonstruktionen. Bemerkenswert bleibt über solche Überlegungen allerdings der enorme Zuwachs dieser Sendeform, beispielsweise zwischen 1980 und 1993. „Nimmt man den relativen Anteil der Talkshow am Gesamtprogrammvolumen als Grundlage, so ist der Umfang der Talkshow im Verlauf dieser 13 Jahre nach erheblichen Schwankungen um 65% angewachsen. Interessant gestaltet sich unter diesem Gesichtspunkt die Frage nach den sozialen Auswirkungen einer Dominanz der Talkshow in der Rezeption audiovisueller Medien. Wenn nämlich „der Talk dem Alltagsgeschehen so nahe ist, wenn sich Strukturen des Gesprächs hier wie dort wiederholen, dann ist ungewiß, ob die Zuschauer beide Ebenen voneinander trennen können, ob es nicht zu einem, Downloaden' der elektronischen Programme in die Programme der Lebenswelt komm
