Nicalis Games CC-00804-1 Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of Crystal Crisis for Nintendo Switch** Crystal Crisis emerges as a vibrant homage to classic puzzlers like Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, infused with modern mechanics and an impressive character roster. Players engage in a strategic battle of color-matching, where careful planning and quick reflexes determine victory. The game allows players to match colorful blocks while employing characters with unique abilities that can alter gameplay dynamics Considerably. This adds an extra layer of strategy, making each match significantly more engaging. The cast, featuring beloved characters from various gaming franchises, enhances its charm, particularly for fans of these series. With modes ranging from single-player story campaigns to competitive battles against friends or AI, there is a wealth of content to keep players entertained. The tutorial is a noteworthy aspect, providing necessary guidance to get the most out of each character's special abilities and the core gameplay. Notably, the addition of a "wrap-around" feature where blocks can cross borders adds a fresh twist to gameplay, though options to disable the feature are available for traditionalists. The visuals are colorful and inviting, with upbeat music and sound effects that enhance the experience. However, players have noted a significant drawback: loading times can stretch as long as 30 seconds between matches, which may disrupt the flow of gameplay, though this is somewhat mitigated in modes like Survival. The grid's 3D perspective when booting the game may also take some getting used to, although options exist to adjust this. Overall, Crystal Crisis is a well-crafted puzzle game that resonates well with enthusiasts of the genre. Its innovative mechanics, extensive modes, and diverse character lineup make it appealing to both newcomers and seasoned players. For fans looking for engaging multiplayer experiences and deep single-player content, this title is a solid addition to their collection. **Pros and Cons:** **
