What is Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 100000CST used for?

Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 100000CST is primarily used to fine-tune the handling characteristics of remote-controlled vehicles. It serves to fill differentials, providing varying levels of traction and support depending on the application. This high-viscosity fluid creates a smoother drive by dampening the effects of chatter and optimizing response, making it ideal for competitive racing and recreational use.

How is the viscosity of 100000CST silicone fluid beneficial?

The 100000CST viscosity level allows for precise tuning, particularly in off-road and high-performance applications. This thickness leads to effective resistance against wear and tear while optimizing vehicle performance. Users find that a different viscosity can alter traction; therefore, this fluid provides versatility for different racing conditions, making it a favorite among RC enthusiasts.

Can this silicone fluid be mixed with other types of fluids?

It is not recommended to mix Associated Silicone Diff Fluid with other types of fluids, such as oils or greases, as this can significantly alter the performance and characteristics of the differential. For optimal results, it's best to use this fluid on its own to enjoy the benefits of its consistent viscosity and chemical composition tailored specifically for RC vehicles.

Is the silicone fluid suitable for various RC vehicle types?

Yes, Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 100000CST is suitable for a variety of RC vehicles, including both on-road and off-road models. Its versatile properties make it a popular choice for racers looking to improve handling and grip. Proper application allows users to customize their vehicle's performance, whether for casual play or competitive racing.

How do I apply the silicone diff fluid?

The application process involves carefully removing the differential from your RC vehicle, cleaning it thoroughly, and then filling it with the silicone diff fluid. Make sure to apply the fluid evenly to achieve consistent performance. It’s recommended to allow the fluid to settle and distribute within the differential before reassembling, ensuring optimal results.

How will I know if I need to change the diff fluid?

Signs that you may need to change your diff fluid include decreased traction, a sluggish response during maneuvers, or visible leaks. Regular monitoring of the differential's performance, especially after intensive use, will help determine the best times to refresh the fluid. Changing the fluid can restore optimal handling and improve overall vehicle performance.

What are the advantages of using silicone over other diff fluids?

Silicone diff fluids, like Associated 100000CST, offer superior resistance to temperature changes and do not break down easily, unlike some other fluids. This stability ensures consistent performance over time and under varying conditions, hence making it a preferred option for competitive racing. They also provide better damping without compromising on smoothness.

Can this fluid be used for other applications besides RC vehicles?

Although primarily designed for RC vehicles, Associated Silicone Diff Fluid may also be used in other hobby applications that require precision damping and traction control—such as miniatures or specific cosplay devices. However, it's crucial to verify the compatibility with other systems before usage, as its specific formulation caters to RC vehicle optimizations.

Is Associated Silicone Diff Fluid safe to handle?

Yes, when handled appropriately, Associated Silicone Diff Fluid is safe to use. However, users should always follow basic safety precautions, such as wearing gloves and ensuring good ventilation while working with silicone fluids. This minimizes skin contact and inhalation of fumes, enhancing safety during application.
