Gothic Editorial Review
**** "Cursed Beasts: The Belladonna and her Beasts Book 1" has captured the hearts of many readers as a captivating reimagining of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale, infused with an enchanting mix of magic, shifters, and romantic tension. The story follows Katarina, the unconventional black sheep of her family, who must navigate her way through a year-long challenge involving three cursed and incredibly handsome magical shifters: Lucien, Aeon, and Zev. As a strong-willed protagonist, she is immediately relatable and serves as a refreshing change from typical leading ladies. Readers praised the author for crafting a compelling narrative that expertly balances character development and world-building. The dynamics among the characters—especially the love interests—are rife with potential, leaving many excited for the upcoming installments in the series. The evolving relationships add depth, although some felt the pacing was a bit slow initially, with a gradual build-up toward the plot's climax. Despite this, once the action ramps up, the story delivers on thrills and excitement, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next book. However, the narrative carries minor drawbacks, such as a brief dip towards the end where the pacing falters, and the conclusion feels rushed with a cliffhanger that left some readers frustrated. Additionally, the shifts in point-of-view and timeline can be slightly confusing at times, but many felt that as the story progressed, it became more manageable. Overall, "Cursed Beasts" delivers a richly woven tale filled with intrigue, action, and romance, making it a must-read for fans of paranormal romance and fairy tale retellings. With its balanced mix of enemies-to-lovers dynamics, forced proximity, and the allure of a magical backdrop, the book is primed for an exciting continuation. **
