D'Addario Tuning PW-CT-16 Editorial Review
The D'Addario Micro Banjo Tuner is a reliable and accurate piezo tuner ideal for a 5-string banjo. It is intuitive and easy to use, with bars indicating flat or sharp notes. A concern is its installation. Depending on the clamp spacing, the tuner may not fit, and some reviewers have broken it trying to install it. However, once installed, it is a discreet way to tune the instrument in noisy environments. Its sensitivity allows tuning without plucking loudly, but it cannot be used to discretely tune without sound. It is not specifically designed for a banjo and can be attached to a Lyre Harp with Velcro straps. One advantage is that the tuner can be used even if the banjo is tuned down a step. Nevertheless, the legs need to be longer to fit the distance between the hooks on an 18 hook banjo.
