Science Fiction Editorial Review
Watchmen [Blu-Ray] offers a visually stunning adaptation of Alan Moore's classic graphic novel, taking a bold approach to the superhero genre. The film presents an intriguing storyline where a group of retired vigilantes faces the realities of a changed world, particularly influenced by the passing of the Keene Act. Director Zack Snyder captures the eerie atmosphere of an alternate 1985 with captivating visuals and a haunting soundtrack. Reviewers have praised Jackie Earle Haley's portrayal of Rorschach, highlighting his dedication to his convictions amid the complexities of superhero life. This film is a profound exploration of morality, nostalgia, and the disillusionment of the American Dream, making it a compelling watch even for those unfamiliar with the original comic.
