What is ACL Staticide 520 used for?

ACL Staticide 520 is a heavy-duty topical anti-static agent designed to effectively reduce and control static electricity on surfaces. This product is essential for protecting electronic components, sensitive equipment, and environments where static charge can cause malfunctions or damage. It is commonly used in electronics manufacturing, packaging facilities, and cleanroom environments to ensure safety and reliability.

How does ACL Staticide 520 work?

ACL Staticide 520 works by applying a thin film that dissipates static charges. The formulation includes conductive components that attract and neutralize static electricity, preventing static buildup. It's particularly beneficial in spaces where static discharge could disrupt equipment, making it vital in industries like semiconductor manufacturing or assembly lines. This helps maintain product integrity and worker safety.

Can ACL Staticide 520 be used on all surfaces?

ACL Staticide 520 is versatile and can be used on various surfaces, including plastics, metals, and fabrics. However, it's always best to conduct a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area if you’re applying it to sensitive materials. This ensures that there is no adverse reaction that might affect the material's appearance or functionality, especially in electronics and fragile environments.

Is ACL Staticide 520 safe to use in cleanrooms?

Yes, ACL Staticide 520 is safe for use in cleanrooms and other controlled environments. The formulation is designed to minimize the risk of contamination, making it suitable for sensitive applications, such as semiconductor production or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Its low particle generation helps maintain cleanliness while providing effective static control, an essential aspect of maintaining operational integrity.

How often should I apply ACL Staticide 520?

The frequency of application for ACL Staticide 520 depends on the operating environment and the amount of static-generating activities in that area. Typically, applications are recommended every few days or after significant cleaning to maintain effectiveness. High-traffic areas or environments with frequent electronic handling may require more regular applications to ensure consistent static control, helping to protect sensitive equipment.

Can ACL Staticide 520 be used on electronic devices?

Absolutely! ACL Staticide 520 is specially formulated to protect electronic devices against static electricity. It can be safely applied to circuit boards, cables, and other electronics to prevent static discharge incidents that can cause damage. This is crucial for maintaining the longevity and functionality of electronic products, especially in assembly or repair stations.

Does ACL Staticide 520 leave a residue?

No, ACL Staticide 520 is designed to evaporate quickly without leaving a sticky residue. This feature ensures that surfaces treated with Staticide remain clean and functional. It's especially important in environments where residues could interfere with equipment performance, making it ideal for tech and manufacturing sectors where cleanliness is paramount.

What is the coverage area of ACL Staticide 520?

One 4 oz bottle of ACL Staticide 520 can cover a significant area, depending on the application method and the surface type. Generally, it can treat several square feet per ounce when used properly. For optimal results, adjust the distance and application technique based on the surface being treated, ensuring full coverage without oversaturation to maximize effectiveness.

Are there any precautions to consider when using ACL Staticide 520?

Yes, while ACL Staticide 520 is safe for most surfaces, it’s important to avoid inhalation and contact with eyes. Use the product in well-ventilated areas, and consider wearing gloves for safety. Following the manufacturer's application guidelines will ensure optimal performance and safety. This is important in environments where users might be handling sensitive materials or equipment.
