Are there any special maintenance tips for shocks and struts?

To maintain the performance of shocks and struts, regular inspections are advisable. Look for signs of wear, such as leaking fluid, rust, or excessive bouncing. It’s also important to ensure that the vehicle's alignment is properly maintained, as misalignment can lead to premature wear on suspension components. Additionally, avoid driving over potholes and rough terrain whenever possible to prolong the lifespan of your struts and improve overall vehicle performance.

What should I do if I notice my vehicle is bouncing excessively?

Excessive bouncing can indicate worn-out shocks or struts, like the Monroe Quick-Strut 372889. If you experience this issue, it’s wise to have your vehicle inspected by a professional. Continued driving with compromised suspension can affect your handling and lead to further vehicle damage. Replacing your struts promptly improves safety and enhances driving comfort, helping to restore your vehicle’s stability.

Can the Quick-Strut help with uneven tire wear?

Yes, replacing worn shocks and struts like the Monroe Quick-Strut 372889 can help address uneven tire wear. Worn suspension components can lead to changes in alignment and improper contact with the road, resulting in uneven wear patterns. By restoring the function of your suspension system with a Quick-Strut assembly, you can improve tire contact with the ground, promoting even tire wear and extending the overall life of your tires.

How do I know when to replace my struts?

It's typically recommended to replace struts every 50,000 to 100,000 miles, but symptoms such as excessive bouncing, poor handling, or leaks are clear indicators it’s time for a replacement. If you feel your vehicle swaying or losing control while turning, these are also signs that your struts may need attention.
