What is ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant used for?

ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant is designed for use in automotive applications, particularly on brake components. It helps reduce friction and wear, ensuring smooth operation of mechanisms such as calipers and pads. The lubricant's formulary is resistant to extreme conditions, ensuring longevity and improving performance in high-stress environments. Whether you're a DIY mechanic or a professional, using this lubricant in maintenance tasks can lead to better performance of your vehicle's braking system.

Is ATE 700014 Plastilube safe for all types of vehicles?

Yes, ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant is compatible with a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Its specific formulation is engineered to be safe on metal, rubber, and plastic components typically found in braking systems. Before application, it’s always advisable to check compatibility with your vehicle's documentation, but this lubricant is widely used and trusted in the industry for its versatility and effectiveness.

How do you apply ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant?

To apply ATE 700014 Plastilube, first ensure that the surface to be lubricated is clean and free from debris. Apply a small amount of the lubricant directly onto the area where friction occurs, such as the back of brake pads or within the caliper assembly. Use a brush or cloth for even distribution. Regular application during servicing will contribute to better performance and lifespan of the braking components, addressing issues like squeaking and uneven wear.

Can I use Plastilube on electrical components?

No, it is not recommended to use ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant on electrical components. While it excels in reducing friction in mechanical parts, using it on electrical systems may attract dust, causing potential issues. For electrical contacts, consider specialized electrical greases that ensure conductivity and protection without risking residue build-up. Always ensure you use the correct product for the respective application to avoid complications.

How often should I use ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant?

The frequency of application for ATE 700014 Plastilube hinges on your vehicle usage and conditions. For standard usage, it's beneficial to apply it during regular brake service or maintenance checks, ideally every 10,000 km. If you frequently drive in harsh conditions or heavy traffic, more regular applications can help maintain optimal braking performance. Keeping an eye on component wear indicators will inform you if early application is necessary.

Is ATE 700014 Plastilube resistant to high temperatures?

Yes, ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant is formulated to withstand high temperatures. This characteristic is crucial for brake lubricants, as braking generates significant heat, which can degrade inferior products. By choosing Plastilube, you ensure that your lubricant remains effective under extreme conditions, reducing the risk of component wear and ensuring consistent performance even during rigorous driving scenarios.

What are the benefits of using ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant over other lubricants?

ATE 700014 Plastilube offers superior performance over many general-purpose lubricants due to its specialized formulation. It reduces squeaking and vibration significantly while providing long-lasting protection from moisture and dirt. The compatibility with various materials and resistance to high temperatures makes it an optimal choice for automotive applications, allowing for improved braking efficiency and longer component life.

Is ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant environmentally friendly?

ATE 700014 Plastilube Lubricant contains synthetic elements aimed at minimizing environmental impact compared to traditional lubricants. While it is intended primarily for mechanical applications, the product is low in harmful substances, contributing to safer usage practices. If you are environmentally conscious, it may still be beneficial to follow local regulations regarding disposal or seek eco-friendly alternatives for consumer-grade applications.
